  • Once you have completed your 9 holes, if you would like to continue (although, due to the expected demand, it is unlikely this will be possible), you must check with pro’s shop after you have finished your 9 Holes
  • Each member will only be allowed to book a maximum of 2 tee times within the 3 days.
  • Non-members will not be allowed to play without a member on the Norwood course.
  • From Saturday 5th December, the Norwood course will revert to 18 holes.
  • West Wood Par 3 Course available as usual, bookings only, book online from Wed 25th Nov at 7.30pm.

  • Up to 4 players per tee time will be allowed from re-opening.
  • Everyone must continue to check-in to the Pro Shop before play, wearing a face covering. Please allow extra time as we envisage the staff in the shop to be very busy.
  • The driving range, individual lessons & custom fitting will also be available. We are still awaiting our tier banding from the Government which will affect the clubhouse facilities.

Please book online rather than by phone whenever possible

Covid Restrictions are still in place throughout

Enjoy your golf … welcome back …

“GOLF COURSES & FACILITIES TO CLOSED DURING LOCKDOWN”

Not the news we were hoping for, we had kept our fingers crossed for a final reprieve, but that was not to happen.
Please note the following:
✔️ Both the courses will be maintained throughout this period.
✔️The Pro shop will be available for the collection of orders only, weekdays from 9am until approx 5pm (please email Rob direct, r.macey@route56.co.uk).
✔️The office email system will be monitored throughout.
❗️The clubhouse, driving range and practice short game areas will also close.
❗️Please do not walk across the golf courses, stick to the designated footpaths.
🙏🏼We hope the government will allow outdoor sports as early a release as possible from the lockdown and we will keep you updated with any news going forward.
Thank you for your continued support and take good care.

NEW COVID VERY HIGH RISK Alert

As the whole of the county including NPGC is going to be in Tier 3 from Fri 30th, the good news is that the playing of golf outdoors (including the driving range) may continue in its current format, but please note the following:

1. People must not socialise with anybody they do not live with, or have formed a support bubble with, in any indoor setting or in any private garden or at most outdoor hospitality venues and ticketed events.

2. People must not socialise in a group of more than 6 in an outdoor public space, including sports venues.

3. Pubs and bars must close. They can only remain open where they operate as if they were a restaurant, which means serving substantial meals, like a main lunchtime or evening meal. They may only serve alcohol as part of such a meal.

4. Golfers should try to avoid travelling outside the very-high alert level area you are in or entering a very-high alert level area, other than to travel through the area on a longer journey.

5. Golfers should avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK if resident in a very-high alert level area, or avoid staying overnight in a very-high alert level area if resident elsewhere.

What are the implications therefore at NPGC?

Consuming alcohol

  • An alcohol order will ONLY be taken alongside an order for a substantial table meal.
  • A sandwich on its own is not a substantial table meal but a sandwich served with chips is; a single sausage roll is not a substantial meal but served with accompaniments it would be considered substantial – these are just some examples.
  • To encourage members to continue to use the clubhouse, the menu will be adapted to offer value-for-money substantial meals.
  • Sharing a single meal would not be deemed a substantial meal.
  • Drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) will be brought out before the food arrives.  Further drinks may then be purchased but once the meal has been eaten, only ONE further drink may be purchased and you will have to leave within a reasonable time.
  • You can have a 3-course meal!

No mixing of households

  • Households are NOT allowed to mix indoors.
  • Households are NOT allowed to mix outdoors either.
  • Therefore only ONE person per table inside or outside (unless from the same household).

Hot drinks and snacks will be takeaway only, meaning they can’t be consumed in the clubhouse; this includes:

  • Coffee and tea.
  • Cakes and flapjacks etc.
  • Bacon / sausage breakfast rolls and other sandwiches.

Kitchen opening hours

  • 10.30 – 17.00 Mon – Fri.
  • 10.30 – 18.00 Sat – Sun.
  • Half-way house will still be open as usual at weekends.

What remains unchanged?

  • Playing of golf outdoors (including the driving range) may continue in its current format.
  • Pro’s Shops may remain open with mandatory wearing of face coverings.
  • Face coverings must also be worn in all public areas of the clubhouse, except for whilst eating and drinking.
  • A legal obligation for clubs to collect track and trace information on all visitors to the clubhouse and to retain this information for 21 days.

Thank you for your co-operation

  • Please can all members respect staff – we are trying to ensure these rules are followed so please do not be offended if we remind you if a rule is being broken.  Anyone not complying will not be served and may be asked to leave.
  • If these rules are not followed, NPGC may be fined; clubs and venues are being checked by inspectors.
  • Remember – these are government rules, not ours!
  • This is a difficult time for us all and we need your support.

England Golf latest Covid Update ref 14th Sept

“From Monday 14th September, golf clubs should be cognisant of a change in the law which limits the size of indoor and outdoor group gatherings in England to six people.

On the course: Golf can continue to be played in accordance with existing ‘Play Safe, Stay Safe’ guidance. Groupings must not consist of more than six people.

Off the course: Clubhouses can continue to cater for multiple groups each containing a maximum of six people from different households. However, golfers in one group must avoid merging with golfers from another group to create a single gathering in excess of six people.

Society and team event organisers should take special care to ensure different groups of six from within their party do not merge to form larger groups before, during or after a round. Travel to and from golf venues should continue to be in accordance with government regulations”

Our Staff are working very hard to keep everyone safe, however you may experience some delays in service both within the Clubhouse/ Courtyard & Pro Shop – please be kind & patient to all our staff

Courses Re-opening Wednesday 13th May for MEMBERS ONLY

IMPORTANT STATEMENT
We, at Norwood, welcome the news that we can now re-open with restrictions in place, as previously sent out in an email to members; we are opening the Courses initially to MEMBERS ONLY tomorrow Wednesday 13th May

Please note that the following is subject to change at short notice.

Our priority is to provide a safe environment for members and for staff and secondly, to give all members the opportunity to play some social golf, therefore the following procedures have been decided:

* Maximum of 2 players per tee-time – the tee sheet will be set up for 1 or 2-ball bookings; all names must be entered at the time of booking. We may put single players with other single players to maximise tee times but will inform you if this happens.
Members only.

* 9 Holes only, playing from either the 1st or 10th tee Norwood Course – ALL TIMES MUST BE PRE-BOOKED ONLINE, make sure you book the correct tee you want to start from.

* 9 Hole Par 3 West Wood Course – ALL TIMES MUST BE PRE-BOOKED ONLINE.

* 7 Days in Advance booking will start from 12.00 noon on Tuesday 12th May, and will then revert to 6.30am each day thereafter.

* No Roll ups/Fuddle groups etc.

* We appreciate that members will be eager to play, please ensure all names are listed in the tee slot and please be considerate and avoid over-booking.

* Turning up to play without a tee time is not permitted – this applies to both the Norwood and West Wood courses.

* Tee times will be from 7.30am – 5.00pm seven days a week, subject to availability. We need to know who is on the course at all times and we need to avoid members being out on the courses with no staff on the premises.

* The clubhouse will be CLOSED. The toilets will be available for use, although we would ask golfers to change their shoes in the car park and keep their belongings in their cars.
There will be no food and beverage facilities initially.

* After you have finished playing golf, go straight home.

Terms and Conditions of Play

In light of the current Covid 19 pandemic, and in line with ‘play safe, stay safe’ guidance, you must agree to the following code of conduct prior to completing your online tee time booking.

Before your round – (please note the below is still subject to governing bodies guidance and may change)
You should aim to arrive at the car park no more than 10 minutes before your tee off time and always try to park away from other vehicles where possible – the grass overflow car park will be available.

Please check into the Pro shop before play – the shop has been re-designed to allow for social distancing – observe and obey all signage.

Do not use the practice facilities – putting greens, practice bunker & driving range are currently out of action.

In order to comply with social distancing rules, you must arrive at your starting tee no more than 5 minutes before your tee-off time.

If a group is waiting on the tee, keep a safe distance of at least 2 metres.

Keep the same safe distance from your playing partner (if from a different household) whilst waiting to start your round.

Clubhouse toilets will be open, and for hand washing.

During your round

Keep two metres apart from your playing partner at all times (if from a different household). This includes when teeing off, walking to the ball, putting out and searching for a lost ball.

Do not pick up any stray golf balls you may find.

Do not touch the flagsticks.

Bunkers are GUR, and rakes have been removed.

Bins & Ball washers are out of use, please take your rubbish home.

After your round

When your round has been completed, leave the course and club immediately to avoid any gatherings, do not bring your own refreshments (especially alcohol) onto the premises with a view to consuming them post round (refreshments such as sandwiches, water etc can obviously be consumed during your round).

Exit via the road path to the car park – DO NOT go back through the archway in the courtyard, unless you need to use the toilets & for hand washing – but please be aware of adhering to social distancing in the enclosed spaces.

The Main Gate will be closed at 7:30pm, so all members must be off the premises by 7.15pm.

On a separate note, now we are re-opening, we have received many emails from members who haven’t already paid their Membership subs, asking if they can do so. As previously stated, we will credit the length of time we are / have been closed to next year’s subscription if you have paid the full amount this year 2020/21 please contact us for details on how to pay or use the BACS online details previously emailed out using your name as reference

Common sense will prevail – and we have no doubt our Members will adhere to these restrictions

Best wishes & welcome back to Norwood … we have missed you …

Another ***** Star Review today on Google

I had a great round of golf at Norwood! The course is in fantastic condition from tee to green and cant wait to play it again. I had played at another top course in Nottinghamshire, (which even holds the Open qualifying) the week before and have to say that Norwood is in far better condition. Well done to all at this friendly and superb club!
